Malta Study Visa and Residence Permit

The country offers two types of student visas depending on the duration of your study in Malta. You can apply for a Type D visa for a long-term stay or if your course lasts more than 90 days. A type C visa is ideal for shorter visits. You should submit proof of financial resources and an offer letter or admission letter from a recognized university in Malta. Recently, the Australian government has announced some major changes in student visa rules. A notable one is a change in the English language proficiency test requirements. The government has raised the minimum score requirements:

  • Student visa: The score has been increased from 5.5 to 6.0
  • Temporary graduate visa: The score has been increased from 6.0 to 6.5
