The programme is designed as a general management course with a healthcare context to give students an exposure to working in a competitive business environment in a range of entry to middle-level healthcare administration roles.

Healthcare administrators plan and supervise the delivery of services by doctors, nurses and technicians. They may work in small health clinics or major medical centres, including hospitals, nursing and residential care facilities, physicians’ offices, dentist offices, home healthcare services, and outpatient care centres.

Since a good understanding of medical procedures and a familiarity with medical terminology are essential for successful healthcare administration, the programme is open to learners who already have this background knowledge through a qualification in nursing or related field.
